So why do savvy e-mailers still use from fields like donotreply or support (or VIAGRA Official Site)? Seems like they’re begging to be ignored or trashed.

Improve your “FROM” field and see what it does for your open rate.

Send from a recognizable “From” name/address, one your subscribers were introduced to during the opt-in process. If you’ve properly set their expectations, your subscribers will more quickly and easily recognize your company or list name.

Be consistent, so the email filters know yours is legit. It’s still a good idea to encourage subscribers to “white list” your address, so your email will be delivered to their Inbox successfully.
